This Starrett Intenss PRO bimetal band saw blade has an Intenss tooth design, aggressive positive rake angle, variable pitch, and a raker tooth set for high-production cutting on tool steel, stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, and nonferrous alloys. Replacing the Gladiator, the Intenss tooth design has an aggressive positive rake angle of up to 12 degrees for fast, efficient cutting and a fine surface finish. The teeth are made of triple-tempered M-42 high-speed cobalt steel that can make cuts in materials up to 45 HRC (Rockwell hardness), and the alloy steel backing strip resists fatigue. The blade can make cuts in solid, structural, and tubular shapes, as well as bundles. It has a variable pitch, so the tooth size and gullet depth vary in order to reduce noise and vibration levels and to remove chips efficiently. The blade has a raker tooth set, which alternates between left-leaning, right-leaning, and unset teeth, for increased chip evacuation that reduces clogging. This band saw blade works for fast, high-production cutting.
